Hello Autumn - the nights are cooler and the clouds are churning but we haven't received the usual end of Summer rain that kick starts the Autumn growing season. Still, we have lots of delicious local and organic produce for you, with the exception of a few favourites.
We are Food Business Licensed!
Yay! Our kitchen is certified and we can now cut, decant, repackage and cater! Our kitchen is also available for hire - please Contact Us to learn more.
Frozen Salmon Portions Now Available.
To celebrate we have done a test batch of 2x 150g salmon portions - skin on, vacuum sealed. Ideal for those who find our monthly salmon club fillets too large. We'd love to know what you think - are they good value?
Organic cheese is a justifiable expense when you save money buying in bulk. Barambah Organics Marinated Feta in 1.6kg bucket for $55 is a great go-to option for entertaining with summer salads or dicing into school lunch boxes.
Kenilworth Organic Mature cheddar 2.7kg block is new to inventory and ticks all our boxes as a high quality, local, organic product made by small-to-medium business. It is a sharp cheddar but not too bitey - with a firm texture, light crumble and a slight calcium crystal mouth feel like the famous Mersey Valley. We know $84 is an investment for a block of cheese so this week we have discounted Kenilworth 250g blocks so you can sample affordably.
Father and son Markus and Josef Kramer have set up an apiary and food safe processing shed right here in our neighbourhood! This is wonderful for us because we can now stock an unlimited supply of their wonderful 3 Mile Honey. Packaged in new clean plastic 1kg jars you can trust, the colour is light gold and texture is highly viscous at this time of year. Subtle flavour differences will feature season to season. Unheated, filtered, local and delicious!
What's In The Box?
Best seller by far is our family size Fruit & Veg box that covers all the staples for fruit, veg and salad. $46 and predominantly organic or ultra-local produce. The MINI box is catching on though - similar contents, just one third smaller for $33.
Featured fruit this week are seedless organic watermelon halves white table grapes. Pears are back in stock and NEW SEASON Gala apples supercede the ultra-popular Sundowner apples from Stanthorpe.
Featured veg this week are organic savoy cabbage and halved japnut pumpkins (shaped like a butternut with skin like jap). Also, 'meaty' crimini mushrooms. Organic cucumber grown by Ashley Palmer of Mt Cotton. Most other local veg is between seasons at the moment - we apologise for the lack of fresh corn, bok/pak choi, eggplant and eschallots. Bauers celery is back in stock and essential to our Broth Box, also $33. We apologise to those who are missing broccoli - we just cannot justify the price!
