Here's how we can fill your freezer with delicious, fresh local and ethical proteins!
We prefer to buy directly from the farmer who raised the animal. This is no longer possible with farmed salmon, but there are several farmers and butchers we rely on to bring you the most high quality, ethical meats. Currently we obtain fresh salmon from either Tassal or Huon in Tasmania via The Fish Factory in Morningside. Fresh pastured chicken comes from Local Pastures in Deception Bay. We'll share more information about our respective suppliers in a separate blog.
How do I order?
It's as simple as ordering and pre-paying one deposit per whole chicken or salmon fillet that you desire - quick search term 'deposit'. Paypal is our most popular form of payment at this stage as it is integrated with our e-store checkout process.
This process may take a little longer to complete the first time only - after that, whenever you are logged in, you can access all your past orders to make reordering easier.
I need to explain something.
If you have special requests - eg, smaller or larger salmon fillets preferred - please leave a comment in the comments box before you confirm your order. You can also leave delivery instructions if you have a tricky driveway, dogs, or an exterior fridge to receive your order.
What about Christmas?
At Christmas time we expand the deposit system to include free range hams, turkeys and rolled pork roasts but the same system applies.
How does it work at delivery?
Once we've collected/received your goodies we weigh and allocate and calculate the final balance.
What about payment?
Eftpos payment or COD is preferred at delivery and for food safety reasons we prefer that someone is home to receive. We carry limited stryo and ice for 'emergencies' but we cannot guarantee food safe storage if you are not home.
But if I'm not home, how will I pay you?
If you absolutely cannot be home - don't panic! Approved customers can also make a bank transfer and so long as you can provide food safe storage, eg prepared camp or bar fridge or other accessible chiller, we can make it happen for you. If you have any questions please call Jodie on 0409 165 000.
Why do I get another email when all is done?
Your final invoice and payment is processed within three working days and you receive a copy of the total price paid via email. File it for your records or disregard as you see fit. We are obliged to provide you with this invoice. No need to print.
